Magi Vision pairs computer vision with purpose-built gym hardware, giving coaches and athletes a way to see what's actually happening on the mat — in real time, without a camera crew or a manual tagging pipeline. As Co-Founder & Design Chief of Seiryoku Zenyo Labs, I own product and experience design end to end: the hardware's physical presence in the gym, the software layer coaches and athletes actually use, and the story we tell investors and early partners.
Every pose model in production assumes bodies stay separate. Grappling is the sport where they don't. Systems that can call a sprint split or a jump shot still can't tell you what just happened on the mat — Magi Vision is built for exactly that gap, from the camera on the wall to the event log.
From the first grip, two athletes occupy one silhouette. Limbs vanish behind torsos, keypoints jump between people, and the tracker rebinds identities in the exact half-second the throw resolves. On the ground it inverts: almost no motion, almost all the meaning.
The visual language draws on cyberpunk and religious motifs — high-contrast, ceremonial, built to feel like a tool an athlete respects rather than a consumer gadget. The mark is a pentacle-derived medallion paired with a liquid-metal magi wordmark; brand moments are set in Unbounded, and everything the system reports is set in IBM Plex Mono so the interface reads like instrumentation. Color is near-black with two signals: cyan and red.
The company takes its name from the judo principle of seiryoku zenyo — maximum efficiency, minimal effort — and the product follows it: nothing spent on work that does not move the outcome.
The public site is where the design direction gets its clearest statement: a chrome-and-liquid-metal magi lockup on near-black, the thesis line right under it — "Grappling Software providing machine verification of human energy" — and a scroll that walks from company to problem to team to demo to the dojos the footage comes from.
Everything above is written down in the Magi Vision brand booklet: logo, color, type, components, the telemetry software's truth rules, and merch. It's built from the live code and updated when the brand changes. Flip through it below: tap a page, swipe, or use the arrow keys.

Every rule for the website, the telemetry software, the deck and the merch, in one place. Tap a line to jump there.
Grappling Software providing machine verification of human energy._
This booklet holds the rules for the website, the telemetry software, the deck and the merch. It is built from the live code, so when the code changes, the booklet changes.

Magi Vision records the mat, surfaces the moments worth reviewing, and hands them to the coach and athlete. The product is not the detector. The product is the review loop.
Make combat knowledge more reviewable, transmissible and durable. The dojo should remember more without becoming less human.
Every pose model in production assumes bodies stay separate. Grappling is the sport where they don't.
Practice happens. The system keeps candidate moments. A coach or athlete reviews them. The system learns which signals mattered.

An instrument built by people who train: precise, plain, and never claiming more than the system knows.
Use the sport's words correctly: grip, kuzushi, uchi-mata, randori, ground phase. Write as a practitioner, not a spectator.
"Grappling breaks computer vision." "Nothing here is staged: it is the build, running."
Copy and visuals never upgrade certainty. "Candidate" stays "candidate" until a detector clears its gate.
AI serves the coach and the athlete. It doesn't replace their judgment.

"Throw candidate"
Name the act: "Learn more"
A memory layer for technical growth
Concrete nouns: grip, the throw, the event log
"Throw detected" before the gate clears
Name the input: "scroll to begin"
A scoreboard for violence
Hype: revolutionary, game-changing
Lockup v3 is the primary logo: the pentacle mark beside the lowercase magi wordmark. White on dark is the default; black only on light.

A thicker pentacle ring, smoothed arm corners, and the pentacle's top and bottom aligned to the i's dot. None of the motion pieces carry brand text inside the footage.
Near-black with two signal colors: cyan for live and committed, red for attention and recording. Everything else is a cool grey-teal ramp.
Operator muscle memory across every reviewer tool. Never reuse gold or steel blue for anything else.
text-dim is the floor for readable copy.Unbounded is the voice of the brand and runs through everything, this booklet included. IBM Plex Mono is the instrument.
Variable 200–900, self-hosted on the site. Most UI at 600; headlines at 700.
Index boxes, eyebrows, data and tags. Numbers and measurements go in mono so columns align.
In the HUD, sizes are fractions of frame height, never fixed pixels: the same theme serves a laptop and a TV read from about 10 feet.
The site borrows the software's vocabulary: notched instrument cards, an index box, a dashed rail and the diamond that marks a committed state.
| Component | Anatomy |
|---|---|
| Deck card | Panel plate, 1 px strong border, 14 px notched corners |
| Card head | Index box, tracked caps, dashed rail, three diamonds, 44 × 2 px accent bar |
| CTA ring | 94 px circle, cyan label. Echoes the pentacle |
| Bracket button | [ label ] in mono |
| No OS chrome | The product is a HUD, not a text editor |
| Card enter | Fade and rise 24 px · 0.5 s |
| Lockup hover | Scale 1.075 · 420 ms |
| Hero sub | Typed in, red cursor · 1 s blink |
| Hovers | Crossfade · 0.15–0.3 s |
| Diamonds | Drift and turn · about 52 s |
Under reduced motion the diamonds freeze into a still constellation, and this booklet turns its pages without animating.
The software's first rule is truth. The visual layer makes the system legible, but it never claims more certainty than the data has.

Escalation reads as temperature: slate, amber, red.
| Operator HUD | Everything the recorder computed |
| Audience TV | Calm state word, names, a few meters. Missing fields are not drawn. |
| Dashboard | Sessions, totals, competitors, signal peaks, selected throw |
COMBAT ANALYSIS 01, PAIR METRICS 02.P0 and P1 by default. ATK / RCV only once the receiver is bound.O-SOTO CANDIDATE score=0.78, not O-SOTO.Real training on real mats, shot the way the system sees it. Nothing staged: the camera on the wall, the gi, the grip.

Merch carries the lockup and nothing else. The first drop is the holographic sticker, sold on magivision.io.

A mobile teaser that sells the product without naming it. The pentacle loader runs under a live-capture readout, timed to the beat.
Every surface uses the same black ground, the same two signal colors and the same two typefaces.

This is a living document. Every change to the brand lands here first, newest at the top.
The booklet follows two sources of truth: the live site and the telemetry software. It never leads them.
Unbounded and IBM Plex Mono, on the brand's own tokens. Designed by Genevieve Puglissi for Seiryoku Zenyo Labs.

Magi Vision is the whole chain, from the camera on the wall to the event log. An operator starts a session and watches state commit as it happens — grip, kuzushi, the throw. The dashboard aggregates what came off the mat and hands back the highlights. The demo on magivision.io is the build, running.
The clip below is me in a white gi and green belt throwing harai goshi, captured and tracked by the software — the exact case the system is built for: two bodies in one silhouette, resolved at the half-second the throw commits.
The public site and interactive demo are live at magivision.io. Footage comes from three partner dojos that let us point cameras at their rounds: Kano Martial Arts in Manhattan, Krystek Martial Arts in Queens, and The Dojo in Brooklyn.
