At Haddad Brands I designed and prepared trim and packaging for apparel programs across Levi's, Lacoste, Nike and Ralph Lauren. That covers the flashers, tags and labels that ship on the garment, and the mechanicals a factory prints them from.
On this kind of work the design has to look right on the shelf and also print correctly in another country, read correctly in two languages, and leave nothing for the printer to guess. Each example below is shown in the same order:
A flasher that hangs from the belt loop of Levi's boys' 512 Slim Taper Performance jeans. The front pairs a lifestyle photo with a column of feature icons. A red band at the bottom carries the fit name in silver foil, and the rear holds the legal and origin copy. It comes in two sizes, one for 2T–7X and one for 8–20, and every word on it appears in both English and French.
The layout puts the information in the order a shopper reads it: brand, then what the jeans do, then which fit they are. The left column holds the feature icons, each in a hexagon with a short English label and its French translation underneath. The photo fills the right column under the Levi's batwing. The 512 fit name and "Performance | Performant" sit in silver foil on a PMS 187 C band, so the fit is the first thing to catch the light on a crowded fixture.
Both sizes share one layout system, so the larger 8–20 version is the same design re-proportioned for a bigger card rather than a separate one.
The file sent to the factory is a 4-page mechanical. It has a title block on every page, front and rear mechanicals for each size, a feature-variable matrix, and a separate plate for the silver foil.

The result was one design system covering two sizes and sixteen feature combinations, in two languages, delivered as a single mechanical a factory can print from.
A large share of my time at Haddad went to Lacoste Kids and Lacoste Baby. This work was structural: I built 3D constructions of the packaging so the team could check fold, fit and how the artwork wraps the form before anything was sampled.
